Organisation: Shelter Cymru - Information matters to rural communities
Website: http://www.sheltercymru.org.uk/
Information matters to rural communities project is working in the smaller rural communities of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire to help raise awareness and increase the take up of rights in relation to housing, debt and welfare benefits. The project aims to help prevent homelessness, alleviate poverty, financial difficulties and rural isolation and also, help to create more resourceful and sustainable rural communities.
An information pack has been developed, which features practical information on housing, debt, welfare benefits, sample letters, helpful hints and tips, flowcharts and uniquely a section on rural well being. 3,000 packs will be distribute across the 3 counties via free bilingual pack briefings to local groups and organisations, who have an established relationship with rural communities. The project is looking for people to help support the project, enhance the work and help ensure that every rural community can be equipped with this user friendly and helpful pack.
The pack can be downloaded free of charge using the following links.
