Q: Do I get paid for this?

 

A: 'fraid not. This is a volunteering post and as such you simply receive our immense pleasure and gratitude for helping us.

 

Q: Is this a scam to collect my details so you can hassle me for donations/other things?

 

A: Absolutely not. We take privacy very seriously. You will not be bothered for donations or bombarded with SPAM. We may send you the odd update on VV for Broken Rainbow, but you can always opt out of this at the push of a button (we have a separate mailing list, you see)

 

Q: What if I can't complete a task?

 

A: It doesn't matter. You save what you have done and then some else can take over. That's the beauty of virtual volunteering.

 

Q: What will I be working on? Confidential information?

 

A: No. We take the protection of information very seriously so none of the tasks available will include any details from calls to our helpline. You will be compiling lists of LGBT organisations, helplines, areas for us to target our publicity campaigns to; you will be helping code our database; you will be uploading LGBT DV stories or poems; you will be making connections for us regionally and updating our online database...the internet is our friend.

 

Q: Can you supply a computer so I can help you?

 

A: We'd love to but we're a charity and as such simply do not have the funds to provide IT equipment.

 

Q: How do I join?

 

A: July 22nd will see us uploading a form you can fill out to show your interest. You simply send it back and we will contact you with how this works.
